    Happy Friday Everyone!

We had a wonderful three-day week capped off with a nice vacation for Thanksgiving!!

    Character Trait:

For December, we are focusing on the character trait of Caring. Our teachers will be looking for students who are showing this important character trait throughout the month of December. We will recognize students during our virtual character trait of the month assembly on Thursday, 12-16-21.

    Grades:

All grades have been either sent home or given out at conferences for the 1st quarter in grades 6th - 8th and the first trimester in grades K-5. If you did not receive your child’s grades, please reach out to the elementary office or your child’s teacher. In junior high, our next grading period will be midterm 2 on Friday, December 2nd.

    Junior High Awards:

On Wednesday, November 3rd, we held our Junior High Awards Assembly. We recognized all of our character trait students, honor roll, athletic participants, and outstanding students of the quarter. This assembly was held in the gym for our junior high students, and this was our first in-person assembly in the gym since 2020. It was wonderful to have all of our students get to celebrate each other's achievements together!

    Conferences/Book Fair:

We had a great two weeks of conferences and a wonderful turnout from all of our parents. Special thanks goes out to Mrs. Cressey along with all of our staff and parent volunteers who helped make this our most successful book fair ever!

    Holiday Parties:

I am excited to announce that we will once again be inviting parents to come into the building to volunteer with our December Holiday parties! Our parties will be held in K-5 classrooms on Thursday, December 16th. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you would like to help out.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a Happy Thanksgiving!

Please reach out to me if you have any concerns or questions!

  • Welcome to Liberty Elementary and Junior High School, home of the Knights. We are located in southern Spokane County, Washington. Our school serves about 385 students in grades K-8, and our special education program serves students starting at birth.

Our elementary program for grades K-5 includes homerooms for all K-5 students and core-specific rotations in 3rd-5th grade with an excellent staff. Students have instruction from specialist teachers in music and physical education and have opportunities to utilize technology in a variety of ways throughout the day. Community-sponsored sports programs and the County Library system offer a variety of extracurricular opportunities for students outside the regular school day.

In addition to a solid core academic program at the junior high, we offer elective classes in art, technology, choir, band, science investigations, math applications, and literature exploration. A comprehensive school sports program includes cross-country, football, softball, baseball, volleyball, wrestling, and boys' and girls' basketball and track.

We boast an energetic and highly motivated Junior Boosters program run by parents who raise money for our school and "extras" for the students. Special programs include an exemplary special education program, Title reading program, and LAP math program run by experienced and knowledgeable staff. Schoolwide events include parent information nights in the fall, a science fair in the spring, and numerous concerts, programs, and assemblies throughout the year.

We are very fortunate to have a great school, be part of a close and caring community, and have wonderful people to work with every day. Our entire staff strives to keep making our school one our community can appreciate with great pride.
