Dear Liberty Community:
We are grateful for your ongoing support of the education of our students. These children are the scientists, artists, farmers, business owners and teachers of the future—our future. Your levy dollars support the programs and facilities that make their education possible.
Every three years we run replacement levies, which represent about 17 percent of our district’s total budget. These funds fill the gap between what we receive in state funding and what is necessary to provide a well-rounded educational program for our students.
The legislature has set a maximum levy of $1.50 per $1000 of assessed property value, which will result in a decrease from the current levy rate of $2.88/$1000.
The following are all supported in whole or in part by local levy funds:
- Activity Buses
- Band & Choir
- Class Size Limits
- Computer Replacement and Repair
- Extra-Curricular Programs
- Facilities Maintenance
- Field Trips
- Highly Capable Program
- Nutrition Services Program
- School Nurse
- School Supplies
- Security cameras
- Substitute Teachers
- Teacher Supplies
- Vocational Programs
