    Youth Football Pre-registration

It’s time to pre-register for flag and tackle football for boys and girls in grades K-6 (next year)!  Final registration will occur over the summer, so we’re collecting contact information early so we don’t miss anyone during the break.  Please see the attached flyer for more details and contact Val Rogers to be added to the contact list.

Food Service Update re: Charging Meals

It is the district’s policy that charging meals to accounts with negative balances will not be allowed as of the first serving day in May.  If you have any questions or need to make payment arrangements for an overdue meal account, please contact Food Services Supervisor Danita Shaw at 245-3211 ext. 7-2219 or email dshaw@libertysd.us.

    BoxTops Drive

If you’ve been collecting BoxTops at home, now’s the time to turn them in!  We’ll send in one more submission this summer, and all K-8 students who bring donations next week will earn a treat.  Thanks to your donations, we’ve earned over $1000 this year!  This is a simple way to help support student incentive and awards programs at Liberty, and it makes a big difference.  Please continue to collect BoxTops for next year, too.

    Summer Meal Programs

The Fairfield Community Center will be offering a free summer meal program for any child 18 and younger at the Fairfield Community Center this summer—Mondays through Fridays, June 24 through August 9 from 12-1pm.  Adults may purchase meals as well for $4.  Please see the attachment for more information and menus, or call Fairfield Town Hall at (509) 283-2414.

    Immunization Requirement Update

Governor Jay Inslee has signed EHB 1638, updating Washington State’s school and child care immunization requirements to remove the personal/philosophical exemption for the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine. The law takes effect July 28, 2019 and applies to public and private schools and child cares.

The Department of Health is working now to revise the Certificate of Exemption form, and the Department of Children, Youth and Families will be sending out information regarding the new vaccine requirements for child care staff and volunteers.  More information on the implementation of the law will be available soon on the Department of Health’s website.

    Substitute Custodians Needed

We are in need of additional substitutes for custodian coverage.  These shifts are typically afternoon/evening assignments on an as-needed basis.  Click here to apply, or contact Aaron Fletcher for more information at afletcher@libertysd.us or (509) 245-3229.

    Bus Drivers Needed

Liberty needs substitute bus drivers! If you’ve ever considered learning to drive a bus (or putting your existing CDL to use), now is a great time to act. The need for substitute drivers increases during the busy winter athletics season. All training is provided by the district, and any expenses incurred during the licensing process will be reimbursed on a set schedule once you begin to work at Liberty. This is a great opportunity for stay-at-home parents, grandparents, or part-time workers with morning and/or afternoon availability. Application materials are available HERE. Contact Rick Brash, transportation supervisor, at 245-3217 if you have any questions.
